Press conference: Hicham Benkaid

Hicham Benkaid spoke at a press conference before the match against Sochaux.

FCR have just lost to Villefranche. A reaction is expected in Sochaux.

HB: After that defeat, we’ll have to pick up points in Sochaux, against a team that’s in a bad way. We’re going to have to pull ourselves together. We’ve tried to tell each other things. We’ve worked hard in training. We know it’s going to be a tough game. We’ll have to stick together and put in a strong performance, unlike what we did against Villefranche.

On a personal level, you’re having a good season. How do you see it?

HB: On a personal level, I’m doing very well. It’s something that doesn’t bother me. I think it’s also thanks to that that I’m succeeding. Above all, I’m a team player. It’s good for me to be positioned behind the strikers. I’m a player who needs to be free, to be forgotten.

Did you set yourself a goal target?

HB: I tried to set goals for myself. I wanted to pass the 10-goal mark (he scored 12). I kept that goal in mind to reach it.
