The Red Devils put in another fine performance against Nîmes to pick up three well-deserved points. The FCR have now won for the second time in a row, their first at Diochon in 2025.
The Red Devils were looking to build on their success in Orleans. And they did. And in fine style too, with a deserved victory over Nîmes.
Already on target at the Stade la Source, Charles Abi repeated the trick to score the only goal of the match. Well placed in the box to receive a cross from Mion, he scored his second FCR goal, his first at Diochon (1-0, 32′). The opening goal rewarded FCR’s first half-hour (3′, 9′, 13′, 30′). The Red Devils could then have doubled their lead before the break, but Abi’s shot flew over (36′), while Benkaid’s was saved on the line (40′)…
Chances were again plentiful in the second half. Both strikers, Faye (52′) and Abi (56′), saw their shots saved by the Nîmes keeper. Above all, Abdelmoula hit the post with a shot from the edge of the area (57′).
With this inefficiency, the gap remained at one goal in FCR’s favor. A lead that Maraval preserved at the end of the game with a superb save from a header (85′). Rouen kept their one-goal advantage and all three points. A second consecutive success, the first at Diochon in 2025!
