Press conference: Jason Mbock

Jason Mbock spoke at a press conference ahead of tomorrow’s match against Châteauroux.

What’s your assessment of the season so far, and in particular the three-match unbeaten run?

JM : The start of the season was rather complicated in terms of results. The change of coach was a real wake-up call. So far, it’s worked for us. We’ve been able to question ourselves. The recent momentum is good and bodes well for the future. We’ve bounced back from two straight defeats. That creates cohesion and, above all, confidence.

You’ve played in a number of different positions. How do you feel personally?

JM : I’ve played in a number of positions, in attack or as a piston. I prefer to play up front. I try to adapt, that’s important. I want to be of service to the team. If the coach needs me, I try to give my best, whatever the position, to be useful to the team. The aim is to get good results. The team comes first.

The trip to Châteauroux promises to be a real battle against a team fighting for survival. How are you preparing for this important match?

JM : It’s going to be a tough game. Châteauroux are fighting to stay up. They’ll be a motivated team, who certainly won’t have forgotten the result of the first leg. We’ve prepared seriously for the match, as usual. The group is aware of the importance of the match for the rest of the season. This match could be a turning point.
