Dominant in the first half, then effective in the second, the Red Devils win at Orléans. FCR return to winning ways.
FC Rouen is back on the winning track. At the Stade de la Source, the Red Devils scored a fine victory over Orléans (1-3).
The Red Devils dominated proceedings in the first half, right from the start. Benkaid opened the scoring at the far post from a Mion cross (0-1, 10′). The FCR then continued to push forward. There were plenty of opportunities to shoot from outside the box, as well as from inside the sixteen-yard box, with Mion (21′), Abi (30′) and Mbock (39′) all having good chances. In control of the match, Rouennais logically returned to the locker room with the lead, which could have been even greater.
In the second half, Orléans came back with a vengeance. After just a few seconds, Bouzamoucha saved a shot on the line (46′), then Maraval got on the end of an El Khoumisti header (53′). The USO striker equalised a few minutes later (1-1, 59′). Back to back, the Red Devils then demonstrated their mental strength to regain the lead. Abi was quicker than the opposing defenders inside the six-yard box to restore FCR’s lead (1-2, 76′). Benkaid then grabbed a late brace to seal victory for FCR (1-3, 85′). Three points that feel good!
