FC Rouen held to a draw at Le Mans

National

2 May 2025

FC Rouen put in a fine performance at Le Mans, but were held to a draw at the end of the game. The Rouen side deserved better against the second-placed team in the table.

Facing a team fighting for promotion, FC Rouen played without inhibitions. Solid defensively and technically sound, Rouen put Le Mans FC under pressure (10′, 14′). However, the home side managed to open the scoring with a controversial goal from Voyer after a corner (1-0, 20′). FCR did not give up and managed to come back thanks to a sublime equalizer from Ferrah with a left-footed shot into the bottom corner (1-1, 26′). Then, Letono, after an opportunity saved by Kocik (37′), gave FCR the lead with a perfectly struck penalty (1-2, 40′).

After the break, FCR quickly had two chances to extend their lead, but Ait Moujane failed to find the target (53′) and Ferrah was denied by Kocik (59′). Rouen held on to their lead until five minutes from time, when Oggad converted a penalty (2-2, 85′). Temperton, who had made the right save, then pulled off a header from a free kick in added time (95′). From the resulting corner, Benzia saved on the line (96′). FCR held on to the draw after a fine performance at the Stade Marie-Marvingt.
