Rouen and Caen Play to a Draw

Trailing Caen at halftime, the Red Devils put together a strong second half to tie the game, though they were unable to take the lead.

Rouen got off to a strong start. Playing with intensity, the Red Devils quickly created chances, with a cross from Bassin to Seydi that went wide (6′). The Malherbistes then took control of the ball and found the net on their first chance, courtesy of Labonne (0-1, 28′). Temperton made a save a few minutes later against a well-positioned Parsemain (34′).

After the break, Rocha, who had come on at halftime along with Fuss, equalized with a superb free kick (1-1, 55′). He then set up Ba-Sy with a pull-back pass, but Ba-Sy missed the target (69′). The Red Devils had another big chance following a scramble in the box. But no Rouen player could get the ball over the line, as a Caen defender cleared it off the line (76′). Clémentia’s net finally shook a second time in stoppage time (96′), following a corner by Fuss. The goal was disallowed… Rouen was held to a draw by Caen, with the same score as in the first leg (1-1).
