In its fourth match of the summer, FCR put in a solid performance against US Boulogne. Playing with discipline and posing a greater threat than their opponents, Rouen found the back of the net late in the game.
The Red Devils secured their third victory this summer in their fourth preseason match. It was a disjointed game, with the first half marked by numerous fouls and a long stretch of few scoring chances. Rouen were the more enterprising side toward the end of the first half, earning a few corner kicks and, most notably, a great opportunity for Fuss off a pass from Sommer, but the goalkeeper made the save (40′).
After the break, the Red Devils were once again the first to make their presence felt. Sommer, once again, sent Samoura into the box, but his shot was stopped by the goalkeeper (57′). The Boulogne goalkeeper made another save against Traoré (76′). Finally, although Boulogne had created its only chance five minutes earlier (82′), the FCR broke the deadlock late in the match to reward a strong performance. Samoura cut inside and sent a cross toward the six-meter line. Faster than his defender at the near post, Tchokounté found the back of the net (1-0, 87′).
