FCR suffered its third defeat of the season in Villefranche. The Red Devils lacked attacking edge.
Away at the Armand-Chouffet stadium, FCR started the match better than their opponent. A good start that went unrewarded, Mion came up against Péan for the best opportunity of the first half.
Then, the two best opportunities ended in the back of the net. Valerio opened the scoring (1-0, 39′). FCR reacted immediately and equalized through Benkaid, with a nice strike to take a serve from Aït Moujane (1-1, 40′).
After the break, at the start of the second half, Villefranche regained the advantage on a corner by Camelo (2-1, 46′). A fatal goal for FCR.
Rouen then laid siege to the Caladois camp. But they lacked sharpness, in the crosses or on the set pieces obtained near the surface. The FCR thus never found the fault… and lost for the third time of the season.
