FCR Kicks Off Preseason with a Draw

Facing Créteil in their first match of the summer, the Red Devils were held to a draw after conceding an equalizer late in the game. Rouen proved to be the more dangerous side in this match.

The first twenty minutes of the match were evenly matched, with no notable scoring chances. After the water break, Rouen began to create danger. Viana’s shot from the left side of the box sailed just over the crossbar (28’). Viana then crossed to Traoré, whose shot was deflected by the goalkeeper (34’). Two minutes earlier, after a fine run, Traoré was blocked inside the box (32’).

After returning from the locker room, Faye, played in deep, was denied by the goalkeeper (48′), but our forward kept his cool to convert a penalty kick (1-0, 63′). While Ferhaoui missed the target for Créteil (73′), Borne saw his shot deflected by the goalkeeper following a fine move (85′). Shortly after, USCL equalized (1-1, 88′). The match ended with a goal for each side.
