FCR lacked efficiency and a killer instinct in the final third to secure a win against Paris 13. The Red Devils were held to a draw in a scoreless match.
FCR tried hard tonight against Paris 13. To no avail, the score remained scoreless for both sides until the final whistle, following a strong cross by Cartillier into the six-yard box that was cleared by the defense. A play that epitomized the match.
In the first half, the Red Devils created danger in the opponent’s box thanks to an active left flank featuring Cartillier and Ba-Sy. The duo delivered dangerous crosses, which unfortunately went unmet by the Rouen players. So there were chances for the Red Devils, but the best opportunities fell to Paris 13, with a fine save by Temperton against Gakpa (23′), while Lasme had missed the target early in the game (8′). Rocha responded with a long-range shot on target that was deflected by Sanou (25′). Just before halftime, Rocha had another chance, this time from the penalty spot. Sanou saved it (44′)… The Parisian goalkeeper then caught a shot from Ba-Sy (45′).
After the break, even though Temperton was solid against Lasme and Dabo (66′, 71′), the chances fell to Rouen. On a good cross from Bassin, Goprou volleyed over the bar (55′). Goumot also missed the target on a pass from Kérouédan (75′). When attempts were on target, such as Goprou’s header (62′) or Bassin’s shot from outside the box (65′), Sanou was alert. The crosses, however, were often cleared by the Parisian defense, as were the numerous corner kicks. The score thus remained goalless throughout the match. Rouen takes a point at Charléty.
