FCR Dominates in Thionville

Solid and united, FCR earned a well-deserved victory in Thionville. In a clash between two undefeated teams, the Red Devils put on a great performance and scored some magnificent goals.

While Thionville started the second half by putting pressure on Rouen’s half, controlling the ball without posing much of a threat, Camara sealed the win for the FCR by scoring Rouen’s third goal of the match. And what a goal it was! Pacius won the ball in the center circle with a fierce tackle. The ball rolled to Camara’s feet, and without hesitation, he attempted a lob from midfield that found the back of the net (0-3, 73’)! This comfortable lead was extended late in the game by a goal from Borne, following a fine sequence involving the substitutes—Touré, Viana, and Egny, whose shot hit the post—before Borne finally finished it off (0-4, 88′). A final goal to cap off a great performance by Rouen on the road against the previously undefeated Betclic Ligue 3 leader.

The match began with a chance for the home team. Sent deep by his goalkeeper, Tubio was stopped by Maraval (3′). The rest of the match was disrupted by numerous fouls. Just past the 15-minute mark, Karamoko was blocked twice in a single play (18′). A few minutes later, Karamoko turned provider and found Tchokounté off a corner kick. Our number 9 found the back of the net—for the fifth time this season—with a sublime acrobatic finish (0-1, 25′)! Karamoko, once again, found Pacius in the box. Alone against Bedfian, he was denied by the goalkeeper (41′). Then our speedy forward scored his first goal of the season, racing the length of the opposing half before finishing perfectly with a shot across the goal (0-2, 45+1′). FCR was well on its way at halftime. They went on to add two more goals in the second half, ultimately securing a very impressive victory in Thionville.
