Although they were dominated, FCR took a good point from their trip to Chambly against Versailles. Rouennais could even have won if they had been ahead on goal.

The first half was complicated for FCR. They struggled to get close to the Versailles goal. At the other end, FCV managed to create a number of chances, forcing Bouzamoucha to save on the line (17′) and Royes to be alert on his line (13′, 34′). Just before the break, a direct free-kick from Baghdadi hit the Rouen bar (45+2′). FCR were quite happy to go into the locker room back-to-back with Versailles.

After the break, Versailles continued to press forward. Baghdadi hit the post from the penalty spot (54′), then Bouzamoucha saved a second time off the line (55′). Finally, the scoreline swung in FCR’s favor! Benkaid took advantage of an error by the opposing keeper to score from 20 yards into an empty net (0-1, 64′). Ahead against the run of play, Rouennais were pegged back ten minutes later by a second Versailles penalty. This time, Mbemba converted it (1-1, 74′).

The score remained level. FCR take a good point from their trip to Chambly against Versailles.
