A Solid and Victorious FCR Against Bourg-Péronnas

With a focused performance, the Red Devils secured a win against Bourg-Péronnas. FCR is back on track and remains firmly in the top three of Ligue 3 Betclic.

Facing a well-organized Bourg defense that was difficult to break down, FCR controlled possession and delivered crosses but failed to create clear-cut chances. The first real opportunity came at the half-hour mark. Camara’s long-range shot was saved (29’). Immediately afterward, the pace picked up. First, Diaby drove forward and found Pacius at the penalty spot. His shot was deflected by Montfort (32′). On the ensuing corner kick taken by Sommer, Tchokounté’s header hit the post. Bassin was there to tap the ball into the net! (1-0, 33′). Before halftime, Pacius was once again in a good position in the box following a nice give-and-go between Sommer and Egny. His shot was caught in two attempts (45+2′).

After the break, FCR started off tentatively. Bourg controlled possession and created the first chance: Kanouté crossed to Ehling, whose shot went just wide (57′). Shortly after that chance, Egny threatened Montfort, who deflected a shot at the edge of the box (58′). After that, there were no further notable chances—on either side—until another moment of inspiration from Camara. The long-range specialist found the top corner from 25 meters with a curling shot (2-0, 80′). The two-goal lead held until the final whistle, despite a chance for Borne off a corner kick that sailed over the crossbar (93′). FCR returned to winning ways and extended their winning streak at Diochon.
