FCR secured its first win of the season in Orléans. Thanks to their mental toughness, the Rouen players managed to regain the upper hand over USO after the home team equalized.

Maraval made a magnificent save on a header by Legendre (4′). Ten minutes later, on their first chance, the FCR struck. Karamoko was brought down in the box. Tchokounté calmly converted the penalty (1-0, 12′). While Orléans had a chance to equalize through Berthier, whose shot from inside the box curved too far (22′), Sommer had two opportunities to double the lead. First, he tried to dribble past Faham in a one-on-one situation. The goalkeeper made the save (26′). Then, Karamoko drove the ball all the way up the Orléans half and set up our number 11 in the box. Faham deflected the shot with his foot (32′). Just before halftime, Maraval was once again decisive, stopping a powerful shot by Diakhaby (44′).

After the break, Faham pulled out all the stops. Tchokounté was denied by the goalkeeper in a one-on-one situation, and Faham immediately got back up to deflect Karamoko’s follow-up shot (54′). The FCR had chances to take a two-goal lead but were punished by a penalty converted by Legendre to tie the game (1-1, 68′). But the Red Devils had what it took. Tchokounté sent Traoré on a run up the Orléans field before he found the top corner from a tight angle (1-2, 78′). Rouen then held firm to maintain the lead and could even have scored a third goal on counterattacks (80′, 96′). The main objective had been achieved. FCR notched its first win of the season.
