Trailing early against Aubagne, the Red Devils fought back strongly to ultimately secure a convincing victory over SCAAB. FCR returns to winning ways in front of its home crowd.

Following two turnovers in Rouen’s half, Aubagne quickly created danger. Bentoumi, well-positioned in the box, fired just wide (12′). Mayilla, meanwhile, found the net with a header to open the scoring (0-1, 18′). Stung by the early goal, the Red Devils were ready to respond! And how! Ba-Sy, inside the six-yard box, missed the target (22′) before forcing Nouichi into a fine save on a header (24′). Next, Seydi got into position, first for a shot that was saved, then for a header that went over the bar (28′). The equalizer, a logical outcome, came shortly after. Bassin, following good work by Seydi, found the back of the net (1-1, 29′). Rouen’s strong spell continued. Seydi saw his header go over the bar (37′), while Ba-sy’s was deflected by another fine save from Nouichi (45′). In the meantime, from 25 meters out, Cartillier had put Rouen ahead with a fine left-footed strike (2-1, 43′)!

After the break, Maraval stretched to stop a shot by Tlili, preserving Rouen’s one-goal lead (50′). A lead that would grow a few minutes later. Following a magnificent piece of play by Fuss, Ba-Sy scored Rouen’s third goal (3-1, 58′). Nouichi made another save on an attempt by our number 21 following a corner kick (78′). Egny fired over the bar after a run into the Aubagne half (85′), and Seydi also headed wide (89′). The referee’s whistle blew a few minutes later, sealing Rouen’s victory. FC Rouen returns to winning ways in style.
