In a tight match, FCR never managed to break through against Concarneau, despite hitting the post… And remains winless.
The first fifteen minutes were tentative on both sides. After fifteen minutes came the first chance of the match with a header by Baldoni that went wide (15′). Rouen struggled to create danger in front of Viot’s goal, while Concarneau began to assert themselves again. Maraval blocked Picouleau’s shot; the ball fell to Baldoni, whose attempt was saved at the last moment by Mendy on the goal line (27’). The Red Devils had to wait until the final moments of the first half to pose a threat. After winning the ball high up the field, Ba-Sy sent Seydi through on goal against Viot. The goalkeeper came out on top in the one-on-one against our striker (45′).
The Concarneau goalkeeper was called into action again after the break. Set up well by Bezzekhami, Ba-Sy attempted a powerful shot that the goalkeeper deflected (48′). In the battle of the goalkeepers, Maraval was in turn decisive on a shot by Da Silva (61′). It was then the post that denied Bouzamoucha’s attempt (67′), while Viot remained alert on a follow-up by Fuss, following a good cross from Kérouédan (80′). The final chances of the match fell to Concarneau. Seba and then Baldoni both missed the target in stoppage time (90′). The score remained 0-0, just as in the first leg. FCR has now gone four consecutive matches without a win, the second without scoring.
