FCR returned to winning ways at Diochon against Saint-Brieuc. After dominating the match for long stretches and holding a 3-goal lead, the Rouen side conceded twice late in the game.
Sent deep, Seydi was denied by L’Hostis (5′). Our number 27, sent through again this time by Rocha, opened the scoring fifteen minutes later (1-0, 20′). The goal rewarded a strong spell by Rouen, featuring dangerous crosses and several scoring opportunities. From inside the box, Ba-Sy (30′), Rocha (32′), and Seydi (45+1′) all missed the target and the chance to double the lead.
After the break, Faty missed with a header from six yards out (47′), then the Red Devils regained control. Ba-Sy fired twice wide (59′, 60′). Then, during this strong spell, the Red Devils scored twice. Seydi doubled the lead, connecting with a perfect cross from Bassin (2-0, 63′). Our captain turned scorer shortly after, finishing off a beautiful move involving Seydi and then Ba-Sy (3-0, 66′). Having dominated the match for much of the game, Rouen let up toward the end. Janno narrowed the gap with ten minutes remaining (3-1, 81′), then Yobé scored Brest’s second goal on a penalty kick (3-2, 93′). The referee blew the final whistle shortly after. Rouen returned to winning ways at Diochon.
