Despite taking an early lead against Bourg/Péronnas, the Red Devils suffered their third defeat of the season, their second in 2026.

After a strong start, the Red Devils were rewarded with a corner. Ba-Sy scored from close range to open the scoring (0-1, 9′). The home side then took control of the ball and had a few chances from crosses and long-range shots, but Temperton was not troubled. For Rouen, a good cross from Goumot was almost met by Seydi in the six-yard box for Rouen’s best chance to double their lead (23′). There were no dangerous chances to speak of for either side in the first half, which ended with FCR leading by one goal.

After the break, Bourg regained control of the ball, but once again failed to create any real danger. For Rouen, Goumot made a run and took a shot, but it was saved by the goalkeeper (63′). A few minutes later, Bourg turned the game around. Meyer equalized with a lob from midfield (1-1, 65′) and Besic doubled the lead with a header (2-1, 70′). Bourg were then reduced to 10 men when their goalkeeper Boulhendi was sent off for a foul on Faye (75′). The Red Devils then took control of the ball in the opposition’s half. Seydi’s well-placed shot was saved at the last minute by a defender (87′). His header then went over the bar (91′). Goprou’s attempt was deflected by Mazui’s foot (92′). Unable to equalize, FCR was crucified by Cissé, on a counterattack, who scored Burg’s third goal (3-1, 96′). The Red Devils lost for the third time this season, the second time in 2026.
