In a tight match, thanks to a strong first half rewarded with a goal, FCR defeated Quevilly and regained first place in the National league!
Rouen got off to a good start, pressing high up the pitch but failing to create any clear-cut chances. The game then became more evenly balanced, with possession shared equally. It took until the end of the first half hour to see any real chances at either end. First, Rocha, found by Ba-Sy in the box, missed the target (32′). A few minutes later, Temperton deflected a direct free kick (36′). Finally, before the break, Rocha set up Diochon! Goprou’s cross was headed on by Ba-Sy and our number 10 finished (1-0, 40′).
The second half, like the first, was tight. Rouen were caught in a false rhythm, with few chances except for some long-range shots that posed no danger. But the Red Devils remained solid to maintain their one-goal lead. It was enough to defeat Quevilly and regain the top spot in the National league. FCR are the autumn champions!
