Once again efficient and solid, the Red Devils prevailed against Bourg Péronnas. FCR returns to winning ways at Diochon!
The match got off to a flying start with three goals in nine minutes! Although Lacour equalized from the penalty spot (1-1, 6′), FCR took the lead twice. Benkaid opened the scoring from 20 yards out, slotting into an empty net after a mistake by the goalkeeper (1-0, 3′). Then Abi restored Rouen’s lead with a fine left-footed shot into the bottom corner (2-1, 9′).
The rest of the first half was evenly balanced with chances for both sides, but Rouen still had the advantage at halftime. After the break, FCR remained solid and even had opportunities to increase the score through Abi (61′), Mion (64′) and Letono (85′), but the goalkeeper made the saves or the shots went wide.
FCR held on to their one-goal lead until the final whistle and returned to winning ways at home. The Red Devils have now won two games in a row, with Quevilly up next in a week’s time!
