On April 8, 1977, the Stade Diochon vibrated like never before in the history of FC Rouen. In the Coupe de France, the Normandy club took on one of the biggest names in French soccer: AS Saint-Étienne, at the height of their glory. In a breathtaking match, the Diables Rouges beat the Verts 1-1, providing the 23,532 spectators with an unforgettable spectacle.

The match, which will live long in the memory, still holds the all-time attendance record at Diochon.
